Police make quick arrests in 2 burglaries

Killeen police have made quick arrests in separate burglary cases,  with each arrest being made within a short time of the breakins.

The first occurred early Thursday afternoon in the 1300 block of Trailboss Drive.

The call came in as a burglary in progress, with police getting updated information as they were on the way.

They were told that the burglar had just left in a maroon Ford Taurus.

Police spotted that type vehicle in the area of Kings Court and Florence Road and conducted  traffic stop, with the suspect identified and arrested.

Arrested was 17-year-old Avery Daniel Godsil who was taken to the Bell County Jail where he remained Monday in lieu of $75,000 bond.

The other case occurred later in the day, with officers sent ot the 500 block of South 42nd Street in Killeen at 4:18 p.m. 

They were told that someone had entered a home and removed various items.

Officers were able to locate a suspect with the description provided and recovered property believed taken.  

Arrested was 30-year-old Joshua Vazquez-Vargas who was taken to the Bell County Jail where he remained Monday under $75,000 bond.
