A Waco man has been given probation in connection with a 2017 hit and run accident that damaged two cars and pushed one into a house.

Steven Bible was sentenced to four years deferred adjudication probation in the incident that occurred near  North 10th Street and Colcord Avenue on May 4, 2017.

The arrest affidavit filed at the time of his arrest says he was involved in an accident wher he struck another car, injuring a person in that car.

The court papers say he then lost control of his own vehicle, accelerated at a high rate of speed and struck a large iron gate, breaking through it and striking a parked car with enough force that it was pushed into the house

The affidavit says he then got out of his car and fled on foot without identifying himself or checking on the condition of the other people involved.

Police say he was caught a block away and brought back to the scene of the crash.

The affidavit says a records check showed that his driving privileges were under suspension at the time and that he had a previous conviction for driving while license invalid.
