Texas Parks and Wildlife Spokesman Steve Lightfoot says game warders spotted a boat that had capsized near Stillhouse Park Sunday afternoon during their patrol.
When they got closer they spotted a man sitting on the shoreline past the boat.
They determined that the other man was partially submerged in the water, got him to shore and began CPR.
They then loaded the man on the patrol boat and headed toward Stillhouse Lake Park where they were assisted by Bell County SHeriff’s Department personnel with CPR continued for forty minutes until paramedics arrived at their location
Lightfoot said that the game wardens learned the men had been fishing on Stillhouse when bad weather blew through the area, saying the weather ” caused the water conditions to take a dangerous turn.”
An investigation into the boat’s capsizing was continuing Monday.
The location where the boat actually capsized as described as being between Dana Peak Park and Stillhouse Park
