UPDATE: Killeen ISD Superintendent Dr. John Craft lifted the directive to keep all students inside around 12:20pm because the storms had moved out of the area. The emergency procedures will be instituted again if/when more severe storms develop.
ORIGINAL REPORT:
Severe storms moving across Central Texas knocked power out to several schools in Killeen Wednesday.
KISD Chief Communications Officer Terry Abbott said the power is out at Nolanville and Elementary Schools, as well as Union Grove Middle School. At Harker Heights High School, the power is going on and off.
Right now, all students are being kept inside the buildings for safety reasons.
Bell County is under a severe Thunderstorm Warning until 12:15pm.
