Temple Firefighters responded to a reported vehicle fire at the Scott & White Medical Center on Tuesday.
The first arriving unit found an ambulance parked by the Emergency Department Ambulance entrance with flames visible from the engine compartment area. The fire was quickly extinguished.
A Scott & White EMS crew transported a patient upstairs in the hospital when the blaze occurred. There were no injuries to bystanders, staff or patients from the fire. The engine received extensive damage. A dollar loss has not been determined at this time.
The department responded with four units and ten people. The call was dispatched at 11:13 a.m., the first unit arrived at 11:15 a.m. and the last unit cleared the scene at 12:11 p.m.
