The Temple Police Department is spreading the word of a scam in the area.
People claiming to be IRS Agents are calling individuals. Sometimes they have even spoofed the Temple Police Department number, and made it look as though the call came from the department.
Police are urging the public to be on the lookout and to not to give sensitive information to unknown people.
This can include giving the information off the back of gift cards you have purchased.
