The Temple Veterans Affairs has a new effort to save lives.
The VA held its sixth annual Suicide Stand Down at the Veteran’s Medical Center on Wednesday morning.
The purpose of the event is to help educate veterans on programs they can get involved in to help get rid of suicidal and negative thoughts.
Those programs range anywhere from gardening and fishing to traveling and music.
The VA also had information for the veterans to learn more about suicide and the National Suicide Prevention Hotline.
On average, 20 veterans die from suicide each day.
