Two people from Goldthwaite were killed and three others were taken to the hospital following a three vehicle crash in Burnet County.
DPS spokesperson Robbie Barrera says it happened at 12:07 a.m. Monday on US Highway 183 a mile and a half south of Briggs.
Sgt Barrera sas a 2012 Dodge Ram pickup driven by 61 year old Sylvano Sanchez of Lampasas was going north on Highway 183 when he crossed the center stripe entering the southbound lanes of traffic.
The Dodge pickup struck two vehicles that were traveling together southbound on 183 that contained members of a family from Goldthwaite.
A 13 year old boy, identified as Ray Johnson of Goldthaite, who was a passenger in a 2017 Chevrolet Equinox was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Equinox, identified as Sheldon Ray Johnson who is a former pastor of First United Methodist Church in Goldtwhaite was taken to Seton Williamson County Hospital in Round Rock.
The second vehicle struck was a 2010 Chrysler Town and Country minivan driven by 58-year-old Sharon Orsak Johnson of Goldthwaite who was pronounced dead at the scene.
A passenger in the minivan was taken to Seton Williamson as well.
Sanchez, who was driving the pickup also went to Seton Williamson.
The crash remains under investigation.
