Two adults are in Bellmead Police custody after a disturbance at an area hotel.
Officers responded to the hotel on Thursday afternoon after a report of a woman possibly being injured.
Once officers arrived, the 41-year-old injured victim indicated the suspect, identified as 38-year-old Douglas Slaughter in a white Lincoln Continental, was the one that caused her injuries.
An officer observed the vehicle, and it was occupied by at least two adults. The officer attempted to get the vehicle to yield to his emergency lights.
The Lincoln drove off, and as officers attempted to get the person to comply, an item was thrown out of the passenger side of the car.
Once the item was thrown from the car and another officer arrived, the suspect stopped at the intersection of Behrens and New Dallas.
The officers took both Douglas and the passenger, identified as 19-year-old Shy Moore, into custody. Two small children belonging to Moore were also found in the vehicle.
Through investigation, it was found Douglas and the victim had been verbally arguing. During the verbal altercation, Douglas physically assaulted the victim. As a result. the victim sustained multiple abrasions.
The victim received medical assistance on scene from the Bellmead Fire Department and ETMC.
The item thrown from the vehicle contained what is believed to be narcotics and narcotic paraphernalia. However, the items are being sent for testing.
Douglas was taken into custody and transported to the McLennan County Jail for Class A Assault, Evading in a Vehicle, Abandoning or Endangering a Child X2 and Tampering with Physical Evidence.
Moore was taken into custody and transported to the McLennan County Jail for Tampering with Physical Evidence.
