A popular intersection in Temple is about to become a lot safer.
The City of Temple and the Texas Department of Transportation’s Waco District held a ribbon cutting ceremony for the interchange project at South Loop 363 and 1st Street (Spur 290).
State and local officials, along with TxDOT representatives, discussed the project’s significance before opening the interchange to traffic.
This multi-phase $13.2 million project created an at-grade signalized intersection designed to increase safety and efficiency at the intersection. The project started in September 2016.
The intersection should be fully complete in about 45 days.
