Killeen murder suspect indicted by Bell County Grand Jury

The Bell County Grand Jury has indicted a man for Murder, calling him a repeat offender.

On Sunday, January 31, 2021, this case was presented to the Bell County District Attorney’s Office, and three complaints were returned. 30-year-old Syrknoreon Dewuntrel Pilgram was charged with Murder and two counts of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.

Pilgram was found and arrested Monday afternoon at the intersection of Texas Avenue and Gray Street by the United States Marshals Service-Lone Star Fugitive Task Force without incident.

Pilgrim was transported to the Killeen City Jail.

UPDATE: Detectives with the Criminal Investigation Division have identified the deceased victim as Asher Levi Kitchens.  The other victims, a 41 -year-old and a 42-year-old, remain in the hospital and are in stable condition. 

KILLEEN, Texas: The Killeen Police Department is investigating the murder of a 34-year-old.

At around 9:32 p.m., Saturday night, officers were dispatched to the 900 block of York Avenue in reference to a shooting victim.  When officers arrived, they found three men suffering from gunshot wounds.  Two were immediately transported to Baylor Scott & White in Temple and the third victim died at the scene.

The preliminary investigation revealed that the three victims were at a residence in the 600 block of Murphy Street.  The suspect arrived and started a disturbance when shots were fired. Police say, at this time, this appears to be an isolated incident. 

The deceased victim was pronounced dead at 10:59 p.m. by Justice of the Peace Bill Cooke.  The name of the victim will not be released until next of kin is notified.
