UPDATE: The victim in the Root Avenue shooting has been identified.
Killeen Police officers were dispatched to the 800 block of Root Avenue on Monday after receiving a 911 call about a shooting victim.
When officers arrived, they located a non-responsive man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Justice of the Peace Claudia Brown pronounced the victim, Otts Hernandez, deceased at 7:53 p.m. An autopsy has been ordered at the Southwestern Institute of Forensic Sciences in Dallas.

The Killeen Police Department has received a report of a shooting.
Officers were dispatched at 6:32 p.m. to the 800 block of Root Avenue – where the crime scene is still active, as of 8:40 p.m. This comes after they received a 911 call in reference to a shooting victim.
It has been confirmed one person was pronounced dead at 8:00 p.m.
Officers are still on the scene, and have been questioning witnesses in order to figure out what led to the shooting. FOX44 will have more information as it becomes available.
