Woman charged with assaulting man

Court papers say that a 20-year-old woman Waco police arrested for assaulting a man in his home allegedly told him she could “knock him out before he could hit his Life Alert button.”

The arresting officer said that Kiara Thomas-Parrish had prior history with the victim when he was attacked back on July 7.

The victim told officers she had come to his apartment and he had not planned on letting her in, but relented after she repeatedly banged on his door.

As the two argued the victim did reach for his life alert button only to have his hands grabbed by his assailant.

The arrest affidavit also includes a description of further actions, including her allegedly going to the kitchen and coming back with a large butcher knife, waving it in front of him saying she would cut him up.

The victim told police she then left and he made the 9-1-1 call.

Investigators got an arrest warrant and Kiara Thomas-Parrish was arrested over the weekend, with her bond set at $25,000.
