Waco police say a woman managed to escape a daylight would-be sexual assault and provided officers with a description leading to them finding a man believed to be her attacker.
Police say the incident began about 2:45 p.m. Friday as the woman was looking in her car for something outside a south Waco business.
A man approached her from behind and began making contact with her, but she managed to fight him off and ran into the business to call for help.
The man ran off, but armed with a detailed description of the man, police searched the area and spotted someone who fit the description near the Waco bus station.
As he saw officers approach, he attempted to run away, but was chased down and taken into custody.
The suspect was identified as 19-year-old Deleion Carr who was booked into the McLennan County Jail on charges of attempted sexual assault, which is a third degree felony, along with an additional charge of evading arrest or detention.
