WACO, Texas – A man sent to a local hospital with a gunshot wound in Waco Friday morning has died.
Officers got the call of a man shot at a barber shop at 1623 Herring Avenue at 9:07 a.m. and responded along with emergency medical personnel.
The caller told dispatch that he had just shot the man, then began performing CPR on him in an attempt to save his life.
Officers took over the life saving measures when they arrived until medical personnel got there.
The victim was transported to Baylor Scott & White Hillcrest here he died.
Investigators said that the two men had gotten into an argument at the shop, and during the altercation the owner of the shop displayed a firearm.
As the altercation continued, 39-year-old Timothy Danforth of Waco was shot one time.
The shooter remain on the scene and has been cooperating with investigators.
Police report that as of Friday afternoon, no charges have been filed against the shop owner, with the investigation continuing.
