McLENNAN COUNTY, Texas (FOX 44) – UPDATE: The McLennan County Sheriff’s Office announced in a news conference on Wednesday that several arrests were made in a sting focusing on human trafficking.
The conference was held at 2p.m. Wednesday to announce these results. Sheriff Parnell McNamara said the Human Trafficking Unit conducted this operation between September 26 and October 1. As a result of this operation, ten individuals were arrested for attempting to purchase sex – three of which were from a minor – one individual was arrested for human trafficking, one victim of human trafficking was identified and received services from UnBound, and five distribution of child pornography cases were initiated.
Of the five cases initiated for Distribution of Child Pornography, two cases were initiated following an investigation into Leonard Newman, who remains in the McLennan County Jail for Continuous Trafficking of Persons, following identification of four victims of human trafficking at the time of his arrest. One person has been identified and is pending arrest.
The Sheriff’s Office identified Newman as having sex with two twelve-year-old girls, taping it, putting it on the Internet and trading the video for other videos of child pornography. His bond is set at $1 million.
The Sheriff’s Office says that Gregory Lechuga, Omar Duarte and Cory James Zimmerman were all arrested and charged with Solicitation of Prostitution of a Minor. In addition, the following individuals were arrested and are charged with Solicitation of Prostitution – Kameron Anthony Pillow, Cesar Carillo, Zahion Xavier Poe, Brian Gregory Taylor, Francisco Mauricio-Medina, Timothy McNeil and David Rhone.
All of the men pictured above have since bonded out of the McLennan County Jail.
