Suspect in College Station shooting charged

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – College Station Police officers released the name of a suspect in a shooting that took place at John Crompton Park, near Holleman Drive and Marion Pugh Drive Tuesday night.

Officers say 21-year-old Jarius Johnson is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and deadly conduct.

They say the Houston resident was arguing with another person and then opened fire. Investigators say one of the bullets he fired hit a 16-year-old innocent bystander.

The victim went to the hospital in serious condition.
