Waco FD crews respond to rescue child impaled on fence

WACO, Texas – Waco Fire Department crews responded to a child impaled on a fence on Thursday night.

A fire department report indicated the call came in at 7:19 p.m. from an apartment complex at 1212 Calumet Avenue.

Fire and rescue personnel arrived on the scene to find a ten year old child impaled on the side of his right knee on top of the fence.

He was hanging upside down with bystanders supporting him to prevent further injury.

Rescuers cut a section of the fence to get him free and placed him on an ambulance cot along with the piece of fence for transportation to the hospital.

He was reported to have been treated and did not have any life threatening injuries.
