Man arrested after choking girlfriend

The College Station Police Department is investigating after a woman is injured during a fight with her boyfriend.

Officers responded to the 3700 block of SH-6 Frontage Road W. at 4:00 p.m. for a report of a civil disturbance in progress. 

When officers arrived, they contacted two people who were in a relationship and were having an argument. The victim reported she was assaulted, and during the commission of the assault, the suspect impeded her breathing by squeezing his hands around her neck.

The victim had multiple visible injuries and was evaluated and treated by the College Station Fire Department. 

The suspect has been identified as 40-year-old Thomas Pitcox of Brady. He was arrested and charged with Assault Family Violence – Impede Breathing/Circulation.

This case remains under investigation and additional charges are possible.
