Bellmead police say that a man witnesses told them threatened to kill an entire family has been arrested on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and terroristic threat.
Timothy Michael Turner was arrested Monday evening at a residence in 4700 block of Bellmead Drive after police were called shortly after 8:00 p.m.
Bellmead Police Department spokesman Kory Martin said officers recovered a machete and hunting knife at the scene.
Officers were told Turner had come to the home earlier in the day, which was the residence of his child’s grandparents on the child’s mother’s side.
He had the machete with him at the time and threatened to kill everyone in the house, then left.
He was then seen returning to the home shortly before police were called.
Witnesses told police they were concerned that those in the house would be harmed and intervened with Turner accused of swinging the machete at them.
He was still at the residence when Bellmead officers arrived.
In addition to the machete and hunting knife, officers also recovered two .177 caliber air pistols.
