Waco police say a 20-year-old man has been arrested on charges of trafficking of a person, accused of paying another man to bring an under-age girl to his home for sex.
Police began the investigation June 5 when they were called to a local hospital on a “check patient” call and visited with a female under the age of 16 who had made an outcry.
The victim told police that she had met 20-year-old Johnny Isaiah Reed on the internet and had been communicating with him via Facebook, and had met him a couple times for consensual sex.
Because of the age difference she could not legally consent, but officers reported there was another factor.
She told officers that Reed allegedly said he had made a video of them having sex and would make it public if she did not continue to have sex with him.
What raised the offense to the level of trafficking was the fact that the third party was paid to bring the victim to a location, then take her back home.
Reed was booked into the McLennan County Jail Sunday after police obtained an arrest warrant, and remained there Monday in lieu of $100,000 bond.
