A man accused by his girlfriend of cheating faced more than her anger Sunday as he went to their apartment to recover his property.
He told police that he had gotten a text from Sherry Baker accusing him of cheating and to come get his things out of the apartment at Canyon Creek Townhomes in Temple.
When he got there and started packing his things, he told police that Baker began pushing him and striking him in the face,
He told police he tried to block the blows but did not want to hit back.
When he tried to walk away, Baker is accused of throwing his belongings at him.
As he had gathered up his things and began to leave, she was accused of placing a chrome .380 caliber handgun to the back of his head saying she would kill him.
The victim told police he began to walk backwards out of the apartment in fear and left the property, going to the 7-11 store on 31st Street to call police, who met him there.
Officers went to the apartment to search for the gun but could not find it.
They did arrest Baker on a charge of aggravated assault.
