Temple police say on Sunday a man wielding a knife entered the police station lobby, but when officers approached he left, alter telling them he was going to stab someone.
Officers said Nickles appeared to be under the influence of some type of narcotic and later discovered that he had been smoking meth.
Officers at that point decided to place Nickles under arrest for Public Intoxication-substance.
Nickles then informed the officer that he had a $20 bag of methamphetamine in his right pocket.
Officers located and removed the bag that contained meth and took him to the Bell County Jail.
