Hundreds gathered at Temple’s First Baptist Church over the weekend to say their final goodbyes to Michael Swearingin.

Many people FOX44 spoke to say his strong presence in the church will be missed.

“Here, he would come on Sunday and give me a big ol’ hug. He had them muscles, you know? Made you love him back,” says Belva Haney, a family friend.

32-year-old Swearingin and his friend, 28-year-old Jenna Scott, went missing earlier this month. Their bodies were recovered eleven days later in a rural Oklahoma town.

Jenna’s brother, Talon Scott, says he looked up to Michael and always wanted to be around him.

“When I knew Michael was coming, I would be like, ‘That’s so cool!,'” Scott says.

So far, no arrests have been made. A GoFundMe page is currently ongoing.
