A 22-year-old Bryan woman has been arrested after a College Station police officer was bitten three times after a traffic stop.

Police say that the officer had made the stop at 2:49 a.m. at Nagle and University that later resulted in the driver being arrested for driving while intoxicated.

The police report says that while Amaya Nicolette Ochoa was held on a charge of assault on a public servant in addition to the DWI.

A statement released by College Station police say that when the driver of the car was being arrested she became belligerent and then attempted to injure herself.

One of the officers on-scene cradled her head, and as he did,  he was bitten.

Over the course of the next few minutes and while the officers attempted to restrain her, she allegedly bit the officer two more times before being transported to the hospital.

Brazos County Jail records showed she had a previous arrest in May for public intoxication, but was released with the understanding that she would pay a fine later.
