A 19-year-old man and his dog escaped injury Tuesday morning when a utility pole crashed through the window of a house where they were watching television.
It happened about 8:30 a.m. as an 18 wheeler traveled down a narrow street in Bruceville-Eddy, snagging a wire and snapping off the pole.
The driver was apparently unaware of what had happened and continued down the street, being stopped by a neighbor.
The victim was alone with a two month old puppy when the pole crashed through the window, showering both with broken glass.
The victim suffered cuts and scratches to his chest and arms but was not seriously hurt.
The dog, named Bella, was unhurt.
