A total of fifteen residents of an apartment complex at 1101 Luther Street West received assistance from the Red Cross and other agencies after they were left unable to return to their homes following a Sunday morning fire.
Fire units were called to the scene at 9:35 a.m. with the first units arriving reporting heavy smoke and flames extending into the air.
The building was evacuated and the fire was kept from destroying the entire building, though there was heavy damage.
Cause of the fire remained under investigation.
