Robertson County Sheriff raising awareness of phone scam

Scam Alert_1531856795723.jpg.jpg

The Robertson County Sheriff’s Office has received several calls in which the person identifies themselves as a representative of Publisher’s Clearing House.

During these calls, potential victims are advised they will need to deposit the check they receive and then send a portion of the funds to cover FDIC insurance.

The Sheriff’s Office says this is a scam, and do not fall for these calls. If you receive a call like this, you are encouraged to report it to the FBI Internet Crime Complaint Center here.

For additional information on how Publisher’s Clearing House does notify their winners, you can go here.
