Robinson firefighters worked to protect a new home still under construction Tuesday morning when a large truck burst into flame and burned next to it.
Firefighters were called to the construction site on Hunton Lane at 11:47 am as black smoke that was visible for miles billowed from the burning truck.
The truck was carrying a forklift, and as the truck began burning a construction worker managed to get it unloaded before it became too hot or burned itself.
While firefighters worked to put out the truck, it became obvious that it would be a total loss and the main concern became protecting the still uncompleted home.
They also worked to stop a small grass fire that began spreading as flames from the truck reached the grass.
Firefighters said apparently some kind of malfunction on the truck started the fire.
There were no injuries.
