Sex offenders on Halloween

While your kids are out trick-or-treating, there is something else you should be aware of – going to a sex offender’s house.

According to the McLennan County Community Supervision and Corrections Department (CSCD), there are 132 sex offenders in the county.

The CSCD will make sure they are all accounted for before your kids go out to trick-or-treat.

Last September, all the offenders were notified they have to be at the CSCD Office on Halloween.

“Basically, anybody on adult probation supervision here in McLennan County is required to report here to the office from the hours 6:00 – 10:00 p.m.,” says Chip Seigman, McLennan County Director of Adult Probation.

While being supervised, offenders will have therapy sessions and watch impact videos. This is the 15th year this requirement has been in effect, and in past years all offenders have been accounted for.
