Soul food supper club shooting wounds 2, suspect at large

Waco police report two men were shot during what was described as a large disturbance  early Saturday morning at TJ’s Wine & Dine Soul Food Supper Club at 901 E Johnson Street.

Officers were called at 1:30 a.m.with a report that a party at the club had gotten out of control and the owner was trying to close it down.

As the club was being cleared out, a fight broke out both inside and outside the club.

At some point, shots were fired and two men were hit.

Police identified the victims as 51-year-old Michael Keith Perry who had a gunshot wound to the chest and 25-year-old Joshua James Moore who had a gunshot wound to his hand.

Both victims were taken to Baylor Scott & White Hillcrest Hospital with Perry reported in stable condition Monday with surgery pending and Moore stable.

Police are looking for the suspected shooter, described as a black male, five feet, ten inches tall, weighing about 170 pounds, and at the time wearing a white shirt and pants who was seen firing a handgun.
