Fifty-four-year-old Sheldon Gridley, who was arrested after a short standoff with deputies on Tuesday posted a total of $5,000 bond and was released from the McLennan County Jail at 8:18 p.m. Tuesday night.
Gridley had been charged with three counts of terroristic threat and one count of deadly conduct after an incident Tuesday morning at his property near Lakeland Hills Drive outside Mart.
Utility workers who were working to repair a broken water line said they were threatened and shots were fired as they prepared to take care of the line in an area at the back of Gridley’s property.
Deputies were called after shots were fired about 7:00 a.m.
There were no indications that shots were fired at the workers, but were reported to have been fired into the air.
The home on the property was set well back from the road behind a gated entrance.
