Family and friends of a murder victim whose case has gone unsolved for two years remember him with a birthday balloon release in Waco.

Anthony “Tony” D. Rivera would have been 19 years old on April 19. He was 17 years old when he was murdered on October 29, 2017. The shooting happened on the 2300 block of Park Avenue in Waco.

“He was a very special young man in his life. He was always trying to help people, if he could,” says grandfather Benito Andrade.

family and friends are celebrating the life of tony rivera, who was only 19 when he was murdered two years ago.

“He was the baby out of my three boys. He was just so loved, and he is dearly missed,” says mother Michelle Andrade.

“Every time you see him, he always had a smile on his face. So he was always a happy kid,” says cousin Victor Ramos.

To this day, police have still haven’t found any leads on who took this young man’s life. There was also another person shot on that same night. Police believe the shootings were related.

“Whoever’s out there, if you know, you could be the one that did this, we love you man. We don’t have any hate for you man. God’s going to forgive you man, but please have a heart man. Come forward,” Benito says.

Tony’s family just wants the community to remember his lovable spirit, and for police to continue their search for justice.

“I’m trusting Waco PD to continue, and I hope that they are investigating. And also for all the other mothers that are seeking justice,” Michelle says.

“Just let life go on, because he’s gone. But he’s in our hearts,” Victor says.

Michelle tells FOX44 there will be more events to celebrate Tony’s life, including a car show.
