Woodway police have arrested a 43-year-old West man when he came to town thinking he was going to meet a 16-year-old girl for sex.
Kevin James Dudik was charged with online solicitation of a minor.
In addition he was charged with possession of marijuana and driving while license invalid plus officers discovered he had an outstanding arrest warrant out on him for failure to pay child support.
The Woodway case opened earlier in the week when he is accused of starting up a conversation on a social media account that he thought belonged to a 16-year-old girl, but which was really an account run by an undercover police officer.
Woodway police say he was made aware of the fictitious female’s age and acknowledged that he could get into trouble if he got caught.
Several messages were exchanged, some of which were sexually explicit in nature.
He also requested pictures of the minor before asking to meet at a location in Woodway.
Officers stopped him when he arrived at the agreed-upon location and he was taken into custody without incident.
