A 27-year-old woman has been accused of pulling a knife at a Bellmead home after coming to try to pick up her children.

Bennitra Kyara Cain was arrested by Bellmead police on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon with a family violence finding.

Police had been called to a home in the 1000 block of Fisher Street at 12:20 p.m. Tuesday in response to a report of a disturbance involving a woman with a knife.

Police say that the 28-year-old male victim had earlier told her she could not pick up their children because he did not want an argument to break out between them.

However, the victim said she showed up just a few minutes later and entered his home uninvited.

Police say she began arguing with the victim, but when he told her he was calling the police she went into the kitchen and got a knife.

The victim ran out of the home with his phone while calling the police.

Officers said that by the time they got there, she had put down the knife and no one was hurt.

She was arrested on the aggravated assault with a deadly weapons charge and taken to the McLennan County Jail.
