The Baylor Volleyball team welcomes their toughest test of the season with 2nd-ranked Wisconsin headed to the Ferrell Center this weekend.
Baylor has dropped their last two matches against top-16 teams in UCLA and San Diego, but a win against Wisconsin would go a long way towards giving them a signature win under 4th year Head Coach Ryan McGuyre.
“We’re obviously excited for every opponent we play but it gets you pretty hyped when you’re playing number two,” junior transfer Gia Milana said. “That’s how it should be with every game but we’re very excited.”
Wisconsin is coming off a win over then-second ranked Texas, and junior Shelly Fanning likes catching a team like this after a big win.
“We want everyone to play at their best so we can beat them at their best,” she said. “Wisconsin beating Texas, that’s a great win for them and I think going into the game of Friday night, it’s a great opportunity for us to showcase what we have.”
This will be the third straight match against a ranked opponent and Fanning feels like it’s giving them a chance to fine-tune their games ahead of Big 12 play.
“It definitely strengthens our game,” she said. “It matures our team, in different ways. We see tough serves we see big blocks, that’s definitely going to help us down the run.”
The Bears and Badgers get jumping at 6:00pm on Friday Night at the Ferrell Center.
