Aggies Focusing on Situational Football

Texas A&M will wrap up their spring with the Maroon and White game on Saturday at Kyle Field, in College Station.

Over the weekend Jimbo Fisher talked about wanting to put his guys in late-game situations, to make sure they know how to react. While the quarterback gets a lot of the credit/blame for how the team performs in those pressure packed situations, it’s a full-team effort.

“They all have to do it,” Fisher said of knowing late-game situations. “Whether it’s alert timeouts, whether we call timeout or we know it’s inside a certain time and we’re going to call a timeout — If you can get yardage and if you can’t you’ve got to get down and save it. That’s not just on the quarterback that’s on all eleven guys, and especially your skill guys with the ball. And the other lineman know they’ve got to get their tails up there quick to get to the ball and do those things. That’s not just a quarterback thing, that’s a whole team thing.”

The Maroon and White Game will be April 13th at 1:00pm inside Kyle Field.
