As second-ranked Clemson comes to College Station, it’s a former Tigers quarterback that Texas A&M’s Kellen Mond likes to model his game after.
Deshaun Watson led Clemson to a national title during his time in Clemson and now cashes a paycheck with the NFL’s Houston Texans. Watson showing his dynamic play making ability last season before going down with an injury.
Mond, who came out of IMG Academy as the nation’s 3rd ranked dual-threat quarterback said he likes to model his game after the National Championship winning quarterback, and his head coach Jimbo Fisher really likes that idea.
“I’d be all for that,” Fisher said. “But Kellen works hard. He models his game after him. You model your game after somebody but th thing you’ve got to be — wether a coach, player — You’ve got top be yourself. You’ve got to see things, intangibles that make you successful. What makes Deshaun successful the few times ive been around him. First he’s a quality young man, he’s intelligent, he studies the game, he’s a great leader. all those are great qualities, of successful people. he’d be a great guy to study there’s no doubt about it.”
Mond and the Aggies welcome in The Tigers at 6:00pm Saturday, in College Station.
