The Baylor softball team is coming off a runners up finish at the Big 12 Tournament falling to top-seeded Oklahoma in the final.

Though Baylor lost the game 6-4 they knocked around one of the best pitchers in the country, Paige Lowrey and that has given them plenty of confidence for the challenges they will face in the College Station Regional.

“Oklahoma obviously has probably, one of the best pitching staff’s in the nation,” Junior Kyla Walker said. “So coming off facing Paige Lowrey that brings it 70-ish and moves it. I think that honestly that probably helped us a lot moving forward.”

Head Coach Glenn Moore knows that even though it was a loss in the record books his team can take plenty of positives from that game.

“We know we were 1 or 2 plays away from being Big 12 Champions,” he said. In a sense, it’s devastating when you get that close, and you didn’t get it done. iu also know you can’t make those mistakes against Oklahoma but playing a game that you felt like you had a chance to win , you have to take a lot from that game.”

The Lady Bears open up the College Station regional at 3:30 on Friday against 3rd seeded McNeese.
