Baylor and Texas A&M Tops in Texas at Producing Pro Prospects

A new ESPN article out Tuesday ranks Baylor as the best school in Texas when it comes to producing pro prospects.

The article looked back over the last 10 draft classes and took into account eight professional sports (NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, MLS, WNBA, MLL and NFP) when compiling their list.

Baylor has had 29 players drafted into the NFL, nine players drafted in the first 10 rounds of the MLB draft, eight players drafted in the WNBA draft, and seven players selected by NBA teams.

The Aggies were right behind Baylor ranking 25th in the country. Thirty players were selected from Texas A&M Baseball over the past 10 years, 29 football players were selected with at least one first round pick every year between 2011-and 2017.

Texas A&M basketball also has had a strong decade sending nine players to the WNBA and three to the NBA draft.
