The Bears are 21 days out from their first game against Abilene Christian, and there’s a lot to look forward to in 2018 with the new redshirt rule.  Athletes are now allowed to play in as many as four games, without losing a year of eligibility.  The new rule is beneficial to players and coaches, allowing redshirt freshmen more playing time.  It all starts with practice, making sure rookies are up to speed, and that’s exactly what Matt Rhule and the Bears have been doing.

“I’ve told our team, I don’t know if there’s any other team in the country, that their third and fourth team guys, their freshmen and redshirt freshmen, have gotten more work,” Matt Rhule said.
