Baylor Men’s Basketball Set To Host Oklahoma State on Senior Night

Baylor Men’s basketball will honor their three seniors and junior Obim Okeke on Wednesday night before they play host to Oklahoma State.

The four players have all walked different path’s in their time at Baylor, but their Head Coach Scott Drew appreciates the work they have put in during their time at Baylor.

“People can equate it to raising kids, one minute they’re driving you crazy, then the next minute they’re leaving the house gone,” Drew said. “So you look at it in 4 years in college, it seems like a long time, and you snap your fingers and say where’d that go, there’s some video of them in their freshman years and you’re like man they were young back then. The older you get the quicker time moves, and again, wish they could do another 4 years but unfortunately they can’t.”

Jake Lindsey has played in 103 games in his Baylor career but has been forced to miss his entire senior season with an injury, but he’s looking forward to senior night on Wednesday.

“I’ve had a hard time getting my mind off it, how I wanted it to go, how it’s going to go are two different things,” he said. “But I’m just looking forward to a win frankly, you want to win your last home game, and the way our guys do it, we’re confident it’s gonna happen now and to say thank you to a lot of people I owe a thank you to will be a good experience.”

Makai Mason once tortured Baylor fans, while wearing a Yale uniform, but has endeared himself to the fans this year having to put the team on his back at times, and he has throughly enjoyed his time in the green and gold.

“It’s definitely gonna be bitter sweet,” Mason said. “Just having the opportunity to play in front of this crowd, in this great arena, with this team, it’s been really special, so to have that come to a close is a little bitter sweet but I’m just thankful that I had the opportunity in the first place.”

The Bears and Cowboys tip off at 8:00pm Wednesday night in Waco.
