NORMAN, Okla. – Baylor (15-19, 2-6) blasted three home runs in a game for the first time this season but ultimately fell at No. 2 Oklahoma (33-2, 4-0), 7-5, Friday night at Marita Hynes Field in Norman.

Taylor Ellis finished with two home runs on the night – one to left center field and the other to center field – to bring her total to four on the season. She wasn’t alone as Kassidy Krupit joined in on the home run party in the top of the sixth to bring her season total to eight.

Oklahoma took an early lead with one run in the bottom of the first, but a single swing by Ellis quickly tied things up at one with her first home run of the night.

The Sooners built up to a 6-1 lead the next two innings before Ellis stepped up to bat for the second time of the night in the top of the fourth. This time, she crushed a two-run homer as Goose McGlaun was on base after hitting a single to left field.

Two innings later, Ana Watson led things off with a bunt single as her speed beat out the throw to first. That set things up for Krupit who homered over the right center field wall.

The Baylor defense, behind Sidney Holman in the circle, shut the Sooners out in the fifth and sixth innings. Holman finished the night giving up seven runs off seven hits with one strikeout through six innings of work.
