Baylor Softball Falls in Series Finale at No. 2 Oklahoma

NORMAN, Okla. – Baylor (15-21, 2-8) fell in the series finale at No. 2 Oklahoma (35-2, 6-0), 16-0, in five innings Sunday afternoon at Marita Hynes Field in Norman, Okla.

Nicky Dawson led things off for the Lady Bears with a single through the left side in the top of the first. Dawson, who went 0-for-5 at the plate in the first two games in Norman, ended Sunday’s contest 3-for-3.

Dawson finished with 75 percent of Baylor’s hits. Goose McGlaun had the other hit for the Lady Bears with a single through the left side in the top of the fourth. She finished the series hitting .429 against the Sooners. One of her three hits was a double.



  • Nicky Dawson went 3-for-3 at the plate for Baylor. She was 0-for-5 through the first two games against the Sooners. It marked her first three-hit game since BU’s win over Louisiana on Feb. 24.
  • Baylor turned its 10th double play of the season in the bottom of the third. Taylor Ellis caught a scorching line drive at shortstop and then gunned a throw to Hannah Smith at first to get the runner out.
  • Goose McGlaun finished the series at Oklahoma hitting .429.
