LUBBOCK, Texas — Texas Tech basketball coach Chris Beard has been to the Final Four several times – just not as a coach. He’s been a spectator. This time, it will be different. Texas Tech is in the Final Four for the first time ever.
By contrast, Michigan State coach Tom Izzo has been there before in his capacity as coach. As a matter of fact, this will be Izzo’s eighth Final Four. Izzo led the Spartans to a national championship in 2000.
Texas Tech and Michigan State play on Saturday night in Minneapolis at 7:49 pm (central). The game will be televised on CBS.
Bryan Mudd and David Collier talked about this historic Texas Tech basketball season with former Texas Tech director of basketball operations Craig Wells and alumni association VP Chris Snead..
