Fisher: A Good Arm Starts With Your Feet

Sports

‘Quarterback Whisperer’ Jimbo Fisher is hard at work trying to shape Nick Starkel and Kellen Mond into his next QB success story.

The two have the stage all to themselves now after a knee injury suffered by Connor Blumrick suffered a knee injury and is expected to miss a few weeks.

Fisher has been emphasizing to his QB’s that a good throw starts with your feet.

“You’ve got to throw the ball with your feet,” he said. “You get your hands in position but you throw the ball with your feet and hips and let your body work. Until you do that — That’s lining up the sights, you’ll be inconsistent, but if you’re not, your release point changes, your elbow changes, you’re never going to be consistent throwing the football. You have to get your point in your hips, I had to work with nick a lot today, you’ve got to get your feet, shoulders, hips in line and let your hands and body work.”

Fisher said he did not have a timetable as to when he would name a starter, only saying the quarterback that gets the nod will have ‘won the team’.
