Frank Okam is Baylor’s new defensive line coach, and he has deep football roots in the state of Texas. Okam played for the Texas Longhorns, and had an immediate impact. Okam earned Freshman All-American Honors, as well as other Big 12 awards, before spending six years in the NFL.
“Even when I was in my pro career, I watched the Big 12, to see how the offense has taken off, and my goal right now is to see if our defense can catch up, and try to close down this wide open conference that we have here,” Frank Okam said.
“He’s really bright and fun to be around, he not only wants to be a defensive line coach, guys he wants to be a coordinator, and so he works at it that way,” Phil Snow said.
“He brings out the detail of an NFL guy, he’s been in the league for 6 years and seen every level, and he’s been everywhere you want to be,” Greg Roberts said.
