The Dallas Cowboys arrived in Oxnard on Tuesday evening ahead of their Training Camp for 2018.
Not seeing guys like Jason Witten and Dez Bryant will take some getting used to but Cowboys Head Coach Jason Garrett likes the team the Cowboys are taking to California.
“We’re very excited about our team,” he said. We have a young team and guys worked really hard throughout the offseason. We saw a lot of growth individually and collectively in our team over that time. So you get away from it so now you come back and everyone’s recharged. It will be fun to see these guys in a training camp environment. One of the thing your find out is training camp’s not real long. practice is really invaluable to us.”
One face that will seem new is defensive end Randy Gregory. Gregory has missed the better part of the last two seasons with drug related suspensions, but has now been reinstated and his head Coach Jason Garrett is proud of the way Gregory has worked to get back in the league.
“He’s been away from our team and away from our organization because that’s how the rules are in the NFL,” he said. “I had a good visit with him last week after the ruling came down. He’s worked hard physically to get himself right. He’s been away from football so there will be some challenges in terms of his transition back but it will be good to see him. He’s a good kid, and he deserves this opportunity.”
The Cowboys will hold the “State of The Team” Press Conference on Wednesday, with their first practice slated for Thursday at 4:00pm PT.
