The Houston Texans opened mini camp on Tuesday speaking to the media for the first time since the firing of General manager Brian Gaine.
Head Coach Bill O’Brien did not comment any further on the Gaine situation but instead kept referring back to owner Cal McNair’s ‘Vision’ for the franchise.
“I’ll say it again,” O’Brien said. “He [McNair] did a thorough evaluation of what goes on in this building on a day-to-day basis relative to the processes that are in place in all different areas, not just coaching, not just scouting, every area – training room, equipment, nutrition, business side, everything. That’s what I’ll tell you about that.”
Defensive Lineman J.J. Watt was asked about the dismissal of Gaine and said that’s the tough business side of things, but he just wants to win, no matter who is in charge.
“All I want to do is win, Watt said. “I don’t care about anything else but winning. I want to win it for my teammates and I want to win it for these fans. Other than that, I don’t care. I want to win.”
The Texans will continue mini-camp on Wednesday down in Houston.
