Lady Bears: In It to Win It

Local Sports

We are under 24 hours from the tipoff between the Baylor Lady Bears and the Oregon Ducks!

Baylor is getting a chance to see the arena for the first time during their practice. The Lady Bears are going hunting for some hardware this weekend, but Head Coach Kim Mulkey is already ahead of the game.

Mulkey was named the AP Coach of the Year. This is the second time she has been named to this award.

When Mulkey spoke with the media on Thursday, she was asked about being left out of the Hall of Fame this year, and she said that’s not why she coaches.

Mulkey says it’s about the love from your players and your university – something she has from both of those. And talking to the Lady Bears, you really get a sense that they feel a sense of family and community.

If you’re wondering where you can catch the game in Waco, FOX44 is teaming up with the Dancing Bear Pub to hold a watch party on Friday. The doors will open at 2:00 p.m. at 1117 Speight Avenue, and they are expanding their happy hour specials during the game.
